About Our Client
Our client is a leading aquaculture company located in Medan.

Job Description

1.       Manage all activities of the Quality Assurance/Food Safety department in a manner which results in consistent food safety results as measured through the company matrix and regulatory mandates.

2.       Develop, document and implement Quality Assurance and HACCP processes/ procedures to monitor incoming raw materials, in-process and finished products to ensure compliance to all regulatory and company requirements and specifications

3.       Ensure that the Quality Assurance department is properly organised, staffed and trained to meet and achieve plant and departmental goals

4.       Perform as plant contact person for sales and customer issues

5.       Manage the activities of the Quality Assurance department in a manner that keeps plant and upper management fully informed on any issues and assists in achieving quality/food safety goals

6.       Develop a professional working relationship and act as a plant liaison with USDA staff.

7.       Enforce corporate food safety and quality programs and maintain the required documentation and provide continuing education of plant associates as required.

The Successful Applicant

1.       Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree from four-year university

2.       At least four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3.       At least three years of working experience as a QA Manager in food industry

4.       Knowledge and understanding of food processing required

5.       Must have or complete certification status as Certified Food Safety Manager or equivalent.

6.       Understanding of management principles and team concepts.

7.       Understanding of further processing is a plus
